Video: Smokey's Barbers - Episode 3

Yay! It's another episode in the barbershop!
I wonder what dramas will unravel this time....

These guys just give me too much joke!! Until next time...

Food: Vitality is Vital

I've always thought myself a bit of a food boff, until recently when I discovered that wine erodes your teeth! So no longer resting on the laurels of what I consider the 'normal rules of healthy eating' such as avoiding large amounts of salt and sugar as well as fried foods and making sure I get my 5-a-day, it's time to increase the knowledge!

Stepping out of the comfort zone and exploring new things, what we eat, how we cook and learning about how different foods effect our bodies can be quite eye opening. I especially like this new campaign from Sensodyne Pronamel...

I used to turn my nose up at 'healty foods' and 'healthy eaters'... That was until I gave it a try for a while and started to feel (and see) the effects. Not to mention I found this picture of 2 year old fast food a major deterrent... The bread isn't even moulding!

Film Review: Marley

Born in the 80’s to Rastafarian parents, it’s needless to exert how much relevance Bob Marley held within my household growing up. Whilst most parents declared Bob Marley as regimented listening on a Sunday afternoon, within mine it was all around the calendar and clock. The Sunday rule was only passed later in childhood within my household, as myself and brother started to explore dance, soul, hip-hop and other genres dubbed ‘Boof Boof Music’ by my mother. Slyly suggesting it was blasphemous to be played on a Sunday because it sent the wrong messages, as opposed to the peace, love and unity Bob Marley was an ambassador of.

Still as a child I idolised Bob Marley in the same way, if not greater than Michael Jackson. Whenever his music played within the home, it carried harmony, like that found within a sanctuary. Through my adoration, I learned about other factors of life, such as inter-racial relationships and I still remember to this present day the upset I felt within as I learned that Bob Marley had passed years before I was even conceived, let alone born. In a way, it made me love him and his music even more.

Digging deeper in exploration, I discovered music from ‘The Wailers’ Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and others, leading to the first concert I ever attended to be that of his son Ziggy Marley. But admittedly, there was still so much I didn’t know at the point I became more submerged into my Boof Boof Music’ as I revelled within my adolescent years.

Marley – the docufilm – gives an insight into Robert Nestor Marley I would never had found through my own investigations. From his creation, we learn about his parents and the family life he was born into. The struggles he faced as a young man and how he found peace within Rastafarianism. The musical journey he travelled before and after the world knew his name, a journey that opened doors for many of musicians including those in the present day.

His humility when interacting with others, as well as the pain and suffering he overcame at various points of his life. Bob Marley was a man with characteristics many could benefit from if they were adopted. Yet while he is known for his masses of offspring, none of the women in his life had a bad word to say about his conduct with them or his relationships with his children.

But while I will state that this docu-film is about a decade overdue (if not longer), finding out more detail about his death and the cancer that eventually killed him, was quite an emotional yet informative experience. Knowing that a man who was present in Zimbabwe celebrating their independence, while also bringing peace to violent political warfare in his home country of Jamaica. As well as being prominent in the UK, US, Japan and anywhere else on the globe, can still be brought to an end by illness, magnifies that all of humanity is here by the grace of a higher power on borrowed time. Bob Marley died young, leaving a legacy greater than any achieved by his white family who disowned him. But his actions showed that purity of the heart can take us further than any amount of anger or bitterness. For that reason, I would recommend this film to not only those that love Bob Marley and/or his music, but to everyone!

UK Film: Ghost (Trailer)

Having personal reservations about why boxing is called a sport, the story behind this film is something I found gripping. Why do I have reservations? Fighting in the street is array and within the home it's domestic violence. Both are an offence, so why is it accepted within a ring and called a sport?

Within Ghost we explore the experiences of a boxer who has sadly taken the life of another man within the ring, causing him to retire from the sport. But while his conscience keeps him away from the sport, the ex-boxer is also haunted by the ghost of his victim.....

Do they find peace with eachother?

DVD Review: Showtime

The Heatwave presents… Showtime (A Rollo Jackson film)

Belonging to a family with tight connection to the reggae and dancehall movement in the early 80s and 90s, I’ve never been able to dispute the unity a good sound can bring. Growing up, watching recordings of the latest SunSplash or Sting was considered the norm for those who weren’t lucky enough to be present as the vibes took place on the sunny island of Jamaica, whilst also serving as a visual for those who were to reminisce.

During the same period, the reggae and dancehall sound broke it’s borders, finding an extended home in the UK via the likes of Aswad, Musical Youth, Tippa Irie and the late Smiley Culture. Through these artists and others, the music became an avenue of free creative expression that allowed evolution to take place continuously, bringing fruition of new genres within the UK.

This geographic and musical growth is the focus of Showtime; the brain child of Gabriel and Benjamin D at The Heatwave, bringing together members of the UK dancehall foundations and all the following genres which advanced from it. Welcoming music lovers who are newcomers unfamiliar with the dancehall pioneers to the connoisseurs, the blueprint for the night is “If you love the tune, go insane” states Benjamin D. The Heatwave have made Showtime a place to find education as well as entertainment, in the meantime giving homegrown artists an opportunity to try something new.

Throughout the Showtime DVD commentary from The Heatwave and various artists including Glamma Kid, Wiley, Stylo G, Stush, Lady Chann, Riko Dan and many others, brings together individual experiences of the music, depicting the formation of the inner passion seen exerted while performing on the stage. Filmed at Cargo in Shoreditch, East London on 15 June 2011 in memory of Smiley Culture (a pioneer within the evolution of the dancehall movement here in the UK), homage is paid to the inspiration he gave to many. Artists recollect their own personal memories of Smiley Culture and how they feel his influence presents itself within their music and the music being released throughout up to the present day. In addition the DVD includes a performance from Smiley Culture’s sparring partner Asher Senator which took place on the night of ‘Smiley Culture Character Reference’ adding a nice touch to the overall project.

The acts on the night were in abundance from the various genres; General Levy, Skibadee, Wiley, Lady Leshurr, Stylo G, Stush, Lady Chann, YT, Glamma Kid, Riko Dan, the list just simply goes on! To bring so many strong names under one roof, to perform alongside eachother on one stage is a strong amalgamation of homegrown talent which illustrates the musical unity Showtime and The Heatwave sound represent. I think it’ll be fair to say that the DVD captures a night when history was reformed. I’ll definitely be showing it to my parents!

Events: Circo's Organisers Have Gone Loco

House music has seen an influx of new ravers and listeners in the recent year or so. While many have embraced the new crowd and welcomed them into the house music community, some have maintained that they are all on a hype and don't really enjoy the music. Either way, does it really matter to the event promoters? Apparently to some, it does....

It seems that there were too many ethnic urbanites present at the last Circo Loco because their 'regular' or 'Ibiza profile' customers complained or 'gave feedback' stating that they didn't feel safe and so the event organisers have inflicted this policy which I cannot deny may as well read as 'No Blacks, No Irish'.

Well let's see how many people travel to Birmingham to be disappointed on the door. Personally I wouldn't bother. You may as well just get your refund and go somewhere that us ethnic urbanites are appreciated.

How much of the TV schedule sets your pulse racing as you participate in social network banter? How many times have you bonded with others online while sharing a joke about a fame hunter on the current reality based TV show? Do you share moments of raw emotion as you return back to normality after seeing the cliff hanger of a soap? Is the unpredictability of watching live sport made more exhilarating by the mass unity the internet can bring? Do you welcome the prima donnas of the modern world into your living room via the TV screen every evening to subconsciously take over your life?

The people over at PUMA have recognised this culture of sofa channel surfing and are asking us to stop living squared lives. Surely the virtual bond created online would be more satisfying in the psychical? UK Film: Outside Bet (Trailer)

It is 1985. Thatcher is in power, Sade is on the radio, and the print workers have gone on strike. But nothing, not even a scale eight earthquake can put a dampener on a group of close friends that meet every Sunday in their regular South London pub for a pint and free flowing banter of the highest order.

Set against the backdrop of a changing way of life-as Rupert Murdoch moves the printing of his newspapers from Fleet Street to Wapping-this is a tale of seven firm friends, who embark on a unique journey that eventually leads them to gamble all of their savings and redundancy money on a single race.

Cast including Adam Deacon, Jason Maza, Terry Stone, Bob Hoskins and Perry Benson, it looks like this one could be a nice concoction of British talent. We may also get to see the acting charm in Adam Deacon that doesn't get to shine out in the gritty urban films we've become used to seeing him in. Here's to hoping!

New Video: Name Dropper

Femfel (produced by Splurgeboys)

Mixtape Review: Smiler – All I Know

His previous mixtape Clarity caused a major storm on the underground causing his name to leak over into the mainstream. Receiving recognition from Fearne Cotton on BBC Radio One and becoming one to watch as a current breakthrough artist, Smiler releases another mixtape titled All I Know.

Having mastered his craft along the way, Smiler’s flow comfortably rides over the beats, applied at a quality that those who have supported him during his climb will know this is Smiler at his finest thus far. In the meantime, Smiler makes it clear that he is happy with his progress, yet within ‘Feel It Coming’ shows that he is far from his coveted spot. This is understandable, considering the calibre of this project.

In addition to Smiler’s outward display to where he is at present, the mixtape sees features from other favoured artists and includes current favourite Delorean featuring Wretch 32 and boasts spectacular production with basslines and melodies capable of getting a pensioner who knows good music to simultaneously start banging their head along to the beats.

The only negative aspect of this mixtape is the length in entirety, or lack of it. 10 tracks and 35 minutes in total, it’s possible that I’m requesting too much from a mixtape. But hopefully, Smiler will take the comment in his stride and now he’s signed to Warner Music, there’s no reason why he can’t get in the studio and get recording his long awaited nice lengthy album!

Event Review: ILUVLIVE (Industry Special) – 12th March 2012

Time for another Industry Special edition of ILUVLIVE at XOYO in Old Street, London and there is a mellow vibe already within the atmosphere. Audience punctually present and mingling, small observation tells me that they’re ready to be entertained by the acts billed for the night; CHARLEE DREW, JOSH KUMRA, KAL LAVELLE, ENGLISH FRANK and MIC RIGHTEOUS.

First up Charlee Drew is welcomed back to the ILUVLIVE stage and once again the audience are hypnotized with his sharp tones. Within his last number titled ‘Did Me A Favour’ Charlee Drew hits notes that spur a grand applause from the audience as he makes way for Josh Kumra. Kicking off his set with ‘Don’t Go’ which he features alongside Wretch 32, Josh connects with his following numbers while also taking a picture of the audience so everyone can share the moment together.

Kal Lavelle steps to the stage armed with an acoustic guitar and without warning belts out piercing vocals strong enough to entrap the eardrums of those within the venue and out. The power within her second number ‘Disaster’ causes quiet throughout, allowing every word and melody to be soaked in. The talent held by Kal Lavelle will surely be remembered by everybody present tonight.

Ready to set the stage alight from the moment they’re under the spotlight, Big Cakes and English Frank give the audience food for thought within the first number and it’s clear to see the hype has been established as Big Cakes leaves the stage. Carrying on the momentum, English Frank shows off his talents once again for the ILUVLIVE audience, letting his sense of humour shine through while ordering a reload from the live band. Before leaving the stage, English Frank has everyone viciously bopping their heads until finally leaving to a rapture of cheers and applause.

Last act billed for the night Mic Righteous steps up and receives immediate interaction from the audience. The vibe within the venue is strongly prominent and infectious; many can be seen dancing and singing along with arms in the air. Following a heartfelt declaration about why he does what he does, Mic Righteous brings Kal Lavelle back to the stage for a last minute treat of goosebump inducing music to wrap up the night.

But before the show is over, the open mic competition takes place and it appears there is a lot of unearthed talent taking part tonight. But winning the crowd over with ‘Heard It All Before’ by Sunshine Anderson is Lauran, who will be back to open the show when ILUVLIVE returns on 2nd April 2012.

Event Review: Cut The Chat Live – 10 March 2012

Places on a first come first serve basis, there were more guests than seats available for yet another special live edition of the internet talk show Cut The Chat, showing that popularity continues to grow. Some of tonight’s guests have even travelled down from the Midlands! Common discussion topics on the show ranging from current affairs to what’s in the media and lifestyle with everything else in between, nobody wanted to be left out.

Taking place at The Roundhouse in Camden, London the Cut The Chat panel plus panel guest Smiler entertained and interacted with the audience discussing various topics such as public displays of affection and whether it is justified to monitor the social networking profiles of a love interest. The passion between opinions shone through amongst both panel members and audience, especially during the age old argument of whether it is possible for members of the opposite sex to be platonic friends. It would seem the majority believe not, however viable reasons were shared in favour of the opposite.

In addition to talk, the audience were treated to an endless supply of jokes from host Little Man and live performances from artists. On this occasion, this was my favourite part of the show. A young man from Birmingham was introduced to the stage as Jacob Banks and what came next was more than unexpected. It’s not everyday a performer you’ve never seen or heard warp you into their zone and make you feel every single part of the melody. Small observations revealed an endless supply of glazed over eyes and solemn faces showing the warped zone I had found myself in wasn’t an individual journey being travelled alone.

The entire event filmed for future transmission on Sky channel Vox Africa, all of the night’s talk and entertainment which also included a very powerful poem from Dean Atta can been seen by those who missed out at a later date. But until then, previous shows can be viewed on the Cut The Chat website and you can find out about any upcoming events by following the Cut The Chat Twitter @CutTheChat

In the meantime, here is a video of Jacob Banks that I found on YouTube...

Event Review: Redd Rooms - 4th March 2012

When was the last time you were offered a massage? What if they threw in some canapés and live entertainment? Is this starting to sound too good to be true? Well it is true… This is what went down at Redd Rooms at The Pipeline, Liverpool Street on the evening of Sunday 4th March.

Hosted by Remel London and Michael Levi (dubbed Mikey Fatz for the night), the show kicked off with acoustic rap from East Londoner Cynikal. Speaking true words applauded loudly by the audience before leaving the stage, the pace had already been set. Entering with exerted confidence, the mood is picked up comfortably by the next act Chale Boy the Poet.

Words drifting around the intimately dimmed room, clicks and laughter expel in short bursts from the audience, feeding into the relaxed mellow vibe. Following entertainment from Fizzie, Nathan Adams and Cheikh kept the mood flowing, showing them all to be unearthed talents with the required capabilities of providing to an audience. Many in the venue (both audience and acts) made references to their earlier massages throughout the night; it seems that anyone who never got one simply missed out.

Headliner Lola Godheld lit up the stage throughout her performance, making it clearly evident that she loves what she does. Her interaction with the audience was at a level very rarely witnessed from underground artists; her set had the calibre of the acts for the night sealed in the can.

Ending the evening with a specialist house set from DJ Sef Kombo, my summary of the night is as follows:
Redd Rooms - the place to go for good treatment, good entertainment and overall winning hospitality. I’m glad I went!

New Music: Cry 4 U (Cover)

Do you remember that moment when Pretty Ricky released a cover of H-Town's Knocking the Boots and we were literally reduced to tears? All for the simple fact that a classic track had been destroyed by some young bods..... Well unfortunately another classic track has been picked up and covered.... Yes, it has been presumed that it'd be ok to pick up one of Jodeci greatest songs and tamper with it.... J Valentine, Tank, T Nelson and Bobby Cash have decided it would be a great idea to distress us and have us crying, while they performed kareoke over one of the 90's greatest slow jams. Sad but true.

Curiousity will force you to have a listen....

UK Film: My Brother The Devil (Trailer)

"A story about identity, brotherhood and the courage it takes to live life on your own terms in an uncompromising world.
Mo is a young boy growing up in a traditional Egyptian household, but beyond the front door of the family's modest London flat is a completely different world -- the streets of Hackney. The impressionable Mo idolizes his handsome older brother Rashid and wants to follow is his footsteps. However, Rashid, a charismatic and shrewd member of a local gang, wants a different life for his little brother and deals drugs hoping to put Mo through college. One eventful summer, Rashid's sexual awakening forces Mo to confront his own fears and phobias and threatens to tear the brothers apart."

When I first heard about this film, the title made me raise an eyebrow. However now that I have better understanding of the storyline, I'm more interested in seeing how the talent within the cast (which includes Arnold Oceng and Letitia Wright) are going to pull it together. Already having won the 'Dramatic Award 2012' at the Sundance Film Festival, this one is one to look out for and support when released later in the year.

but it's here now..."

Isn't great when an artist makes a declaration for you? It shows that he is aware of where he is at and having watched Dele perfect his craft over the years, I'll have to agree with him, adding further that it's long overdue. Has it been worth the wait? I would prefer you give it a listen and come to your own conclusion, but I'd definitely recommend it!

The mixtape takes samples from a range of artists including Gyptian, Drake and Adele, while giving a few sneak previews off forthcoming Portraits of Me EP released on 28th March. Personal favourite mixes from the mixtape would have to be Dele’s renditions of Rihanna’s ‘What’s My Name’ and Kelly Rowland’s ‘Motivation’. Being a female, I think I can boldly say that Dele definitely provided for his target audience with these. However his own numbers such as ‘Kind of the Bedroom’ interlude, ‘Karma’ which features Darren B, remix of previous release ‘Feel It’ and forthcoming single ‘One Knee’ are what really certify why this project has been executed well.

Reaching a calibre to enable residence in your stereo, this mixtape is even applicable for those moments when slow jams are required (Hint, Hint). The rotation of this one is undoubtedly due to be heavy, one play simply leaving the listener craving for more. As we anticipate the forthcoming Portraits of Me EP, this mixtape will surely suffice…

New Video: Payback Season (Official Video)

Never heard of this Harry Shotta guy and I have to be honest in saying that I think Smiler or Bruts would have done a much better job. But that's just my opinion....

Payback Season is released in cinemas nationwide on 9th March 2012

New Video: Sex Machine

SplurgeBoys

Been waiting for this one for a little while.....

Video: The Risk Interview

I first became fond of these guys during the X-Factor live shows. After getting a chance to hang out with them a little at Sunday Show this weekend, I can assure you that it's not an act or produce of thorough media training. These guys are genuinely lovely!! Check out their interview with KG Comedian for Sunday Show TV...

UK Film: Payback Season (Trailer)

The trailer for the forthcoming movie has finally been released.....

The marketing for film seems to be highly focused on BAFTA nominee Adam Deacon. Although he is the starring role, there is lots of other great talent within this film. Admittedly my favourite is David Ajala who plays the gang leader Baron, not to mention Sir Geoff Hurst's big screen debut as Adam's manager. That's not the extent of the talent though, I'm guessing only those who see the film will get a thorough introduction.

Look out for this one when it's released on 9th March 2012

Video: Boyz II Men @ Sunday (Preview)

If you missed the fantastic Super Sunday Show at Proud2, O2 this past weekend headlined by Boyz II Men, you missed out is all I can say. Not to worry, Channel AKA were in the house and have released this preview of footage taken from the night...

Back at One, Leicester Square this weekend, SWV are the house for a Valentines Special. Make sure you're there in person this time!

Follow @SundayShowTV for more info

New Video: Star (Trailer)

BRUTS ft Paigey Cakey

Bruts is sending out a signal to let us know another release is on the way....

Look out for the full length video released on Monday and make sure you support the single when released on 26 March

New Video: Chilli Challenge

Are you willing to accept the challenge?

I almost died crying the first time I watched this!

Drake, She Didn't Practise Enough....

While all the guys went crazy over Drake's lastest video, I watched it feeling the same way I did when I was younger and my mother insisted on catching the latest episode of Dallas.... BORED!!

I mean, what part of that kept you entertained?

Later however, this was brought to my attention by @TheZannaMaison....

I have to admit, had she worked it out like this, my sexuality would be in question. Drake, the evidence is clear. Your girl hasn't been practising enough.... #CaseClosed

Hold tight @StylishTalent because I have to admit it, I can't twerk it like you neither!

Mixtape Review: Delilah - 2-4AM

Tipped as a BBC 1xtra ‘Ones to Watch for 2012’, Delilah first stepped on the music scene under the guide of Chase & Status. Touring for a length of time with them before her debut single ‘Time’ was released, Delilah was like the best kept secret in the industry for a matter of time. Now we just can’t seem to get enough of her!

The songstress hailing from North London has finally blessed us with an 8 track EP titled ‘2-4am’ which you’re going to have to listen to on repeat, because the likelihood is that you’ll get to the end and want more. Yep that’s right, if this was a show, the fans would be screaming for an extra number or two or maybe even three! Her vocals are simply extraordinarily amazing, perfect for those moments when you want to zone out and be lost within the music. If you haven’t already got a copy of this mixtape, you are surely missing out!

Track List
1. Never Be Better
2. Love You So (Joe Goddard's Dub You So Mix)
3. The Gospel
4. Closer
5. Love Drug
6. Lay By
7. Wish I Had Your Life
8. 21

New Music: Destroy & Rebuild EP

I’ve always admired the drive possessed by Princess Nyah, but this Destroy & Rebuild EP has left me a tad confused. I’m guessing the overall idea is pulled together by the title, giving the obvious musical statement. But unfortunately, except from the variation of genres including Drum & Bass, Bassline and Dubstep, and the collaborations stepping out of the Ill Blu comfort zone with appearances from Wiley and NoLay, I fail to see the substantial evident progression that is usually clearly seen when one chooses to “destroy and rebuild”. While I love the attitude Princess Nyah exerts within ‘Do What I Want’, it seems to have taken a holiday for ‘Artillery’. The words are there, but it for some reason I don’t feel like I can take it seriously. It may as well be Cher Lloyd singing or whatever, because the power needed to pull the track off is unfortunately not there. One of those sad musical moments, it may have actually been able to ‘shut this down’ because Nolay’s bars, once you finally get there, are undoubtedly HARD!!!

It's on the grapevyne that an album is on the cards titled Patience and Persistance, due for release later this year. So I’m guessing this EP has been released on a free download, because Princess Nyah has some fresher bangers cooking in the studio. Ones that will cause continuous explosive impacts like we saw from her Diary of a Princess EP. In fact, my favourite track on the Destroy & Rebuild EP is 'Crazy' which funnily enough is also on the previous EP, this time around however production coming from Champion.

Mixtape Review: Angel - Any Minute Now

As time has passed I've subconsciously fallen in love with Angel’s vocals. Personally I think that’s the best way. You know when you’ve asked a few times who the singer on a track is with delight and keep getting told the same name? Well that’s what happened with Angel. Baring this in mind, there was no hesitation to download his mixtape and give it a good thorough listen before commenting.

Piece of Everything completely smashed it for me, funny because it’s only the intro! But if you’re as big of a fan as I am of the Jamaican film Shottas, this will reach the levels of them old skool intros you reload couple times for the sheer entertainment value. Throughout the mixtape there are some nice renditions, however I have to say the cover of Coldplay’s Paradise had me cringing. Some things are too beautiful in their original form to be touched. That said, teaming up with Mark Asari and bringing back the 80’s vibe, shows another level of innovation that has to be commended.

Get your copy of Angel's Any Minute Now mixtape from thisisangel.com

Track List
1. Intro / Piece Of Everything
2. Fire
3. Mirror
4. Tokin’ Grade (Frank Ocean cover)
5. Are You Good feat. Mark Asari
6. Handle It
7. We Know Better
8. Parallel Paradise (Coldplay cover)
9. Man Down (Rihanna cover)
10. Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Prince cover)

Video: Boyz II Men Interview

Ahead of their forthcoming Sunday Show appearance this weekend, Boyz II Men catch up with Sunday Show TV and talk UK food, accents, music and which artists they would love to collaborate with....

New Video: All I Know/Sure Shot

Smiler

Some people have been complaining about Smiler's attempt to sing on the chorus.... I say hats off to Smiler for not being afraid to try something new! So many artists are afraid to step out of their comfort zone or rely on autotune for fear of criticism.

Look out for Smiler's 'All I Know' mixtape coming 22 February 2012

UK Film: Payback Season (Behind The Scenes)

Set up at 3 Mills Studios in Bow, with East London and Pure Film Production's very own Danny Donnelly in the director's chair of Payback Season, the team have formed a motion picture with strong East London influence. Current focus depicting the new upper urban market within the finish, quality visuals have been captured as a result of dedication and hard work.

Starring Adam Deacon, David Ajala and legendary Geoff Hurst, all with strong East London roots, the reputation of the manor's diversity has been entwined within the casting. Main female character played by Nichola Burley adds a northern spice to dialogue, brought right back to the East End by cockney football manager Andy played by Leo Gregory.

An area with high volumes of attention due to the upcoming Olympic Games, many other East London locations have added to the flare of the movie including Limehouse Docks, a bar in Hoxton and a Hackney council estate. But although the structure and settings are heavily centred within East London, other locations feature strongly within the film such as a West End club and Millwall Football Stadium & Training Ground.

The storyline of Payback Season has allowed Adam Deacon (who plays main character Jerome Davies) to show his true acting capability. Jerome a reserved and charming personality as opposed to the extrovert characters Adam has found himself type-casted to play previously. David Ajala playing the alpha male street bully Baron, a dark character David captures well within his demeanour.

Although Payback Season is a movie with strong focus on football players and their lifestyle, this production doesn't have an overbearing football presence. Only the required key characters such as manager, agent and phsyio are present with additional players. The storyline focuses on lifestyle and the tribulations a footballer may face if haunted by his past background, bringing real unspoken pressures to the forefront. After climbing all the way to the top, what does one do when given those juxtaposing words "When the payment stops, the football stops"?

New Video: Where Are They Now?

Where Are They Now? (@WATNowTV) are tracking down your favourite UK Funky artists and bringing them to your screens for your own viewing pleasure. Within the series, @WATNowTV will be taking you on a journey to find out what came of the arising urban stars that once dominated the club scene in the UK and holiday islands. The genre’s limelight having fizzled out so quickly, where have they found themselves less than 5 years on?

Have the names that built a strong following while the genre was in its prime retained and built their following? With personalities such as Big Man Zest, Meleka, Egypt and Kyla in the promo video, tied together by Kiss FM’s DJ Pioneer, this looks like something that could go further than UK Funky!

Stay tuned to the YouTube Channel and contact them at @WATNowTV for more info or to get involved.

Event Review: ILuvLive (Kano & Mikey J Special) - 16th January 2012

First show of 2012 and the house reached full capacity. Tonight it cannot be argued, ILUVLIVE is surely the place to be! Industry individuals of every kind are in the building, from artists to managers and A&Rs to journalists, publicists and general music lovers alike! The word most definitely got out; the Kano & Mikey J special edition with guests like Maxsta, Roses Gabor and Ghetts was set to go off!!

That it definitely did! Ghetts never failing his reputation set the stage alight with a list of endless favourites. His set included tracks like Don't Phone Me, Artillery and of course Who's On The Panel, each keeping the audience highly entertained; singing and dancing with hands in the air. Ignited further by Kano running across the stage and back into the shadows, the audience is fully amped and going for it, intoxicated by the colossal energy source in front of them as a number of MCs jump on the stage bringing nostalgia to the present.

Atmosphere continuing to peak, it falls off the scale at the presence of Kano gracing the ILUVLIVE stage. The East London rapper has the house rocking and as he's joined on stage by North London's Wretch 32, the walls are surely about to start crumbling! Euphoric levels are off the richter scale, clearly depicted on every face in the venue. The guests just keep coming, it's hard to keep up! Mikey J of course is present as is Rapid and Lighter, but the most unexpected appearance coming from Napper, East London are holding the hotspot as the MCs continue to battle. But as the bars continue to drop, as do the reloads. The house is being burned to the ground!

Job complete, audience thoroughly entertained, the MCs leave the stage. Ras Kwame pays his own personal homage to Kano before hosting the open mic competition and closing the show. ILUVLIVE have started 2012 with an event sure to be talked about by every person present, and probably even those not present while wishing that they were. I know where I’ll be on February 13th when ILUVLIVE returns… Where will you be?

New Video: See Them Dying

BRUTS feat Clipson & Shiv Dot

Really like the visuals on this video. The triangles and eye will definitely have and immediate association with illuminati but the use of fire is impressive.

Love It: Innocent Fruit Juice

Over the past few months, this has become one of my first loves.....

If you haven't already given Innocent fruit juices a try,
Morrisons are currently doing them 99p for a litre

New Video: In-Ci-Sive

Incisive

Featuring a number of faces from the urban entertainment scene....

How many can you see? How many do you know?

Edit: OK so I got overwhelmed with modesty and forgot to state that I was in the video. Surely that's not a bad thing!?

Love Nandos?

Probably a silly question, Nando's has become the favourite fast food restaurant for many. I don't know anyone that loves it this much though!

I guess there is no chance of this person becoming a vegetarian....

New Video: Fonti Fire-64

This time last year, Bushkin released a video informing the world that the times of Heartless Crew had come to an end... While many wanted to know the reasons why, all members remained purse lipped and kept it moving. As time continued it became clear that Fonti and Bushkin had remained affiliates going under the name of FAB (Fonti And Bushkin), but still no more word on why the HLC (Heartless Crew) had split.

Until now.....

Who would have known that Fonti could spit with such a flow? Even though people are saying he ripped it off JME, the delivery is still Sho Sho!
