Fuzzy Logik in The Funky Vault!!

Recently I was given the pleasure of conducting the first interview with Fuzzy Logik, one of UK Funky’s hottest producers and now I’m getting an additional pleasure of his company this Sunday when he joins me in the Break London studios for this week’s trip into The Funky Vault!

Fuzzy Logik will be teaming up with myself QoS to present the show as well as conducting a LIVE mix!! Yes that’s correct, he’s going to touch the decks!!

In addition we're going to be discussing various topics such as what it's been like working with the artists he has collaborated with, who are the divas and who has extremely large feet! Also going to be exploring what it was like to do remixes for Skepta, Pixie Lott, Mr Hudson, La Roux etc but most importantly why does Fuzzy Logik never sleep!?

Is Vybz Kartel in jail or not?

From the break of dawn this morning a frenzy broke throughout the internet world that the infamous Vybz Kartel (real name Adidja Palmer) had managed to smuggle guns into Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Spanish Town Road, Jamaica and escaped with seven other prisoners causing injuries to others including a prison guard to die from a heart attack in the process.

While blogs and online blogs jumped on the hype, (no pun to Hypelife), others waited until it was confirmed from a reputable source. Even The Metro joined in ready to state that the dancehall star who has been charged for two murders and has been denied bail is now on the list for Jamaica’s Most Wanted.

Jamaican press has finally spoken out and guess what….. They say it isn’t true!

Assistant Commissioner of Police Les Green told the Jamaican Observer early this morning that he had no knowledge of the reported jail break.

"I know nothing about that. If that had taken place I would certainly have known,"  Green said.

Police at Denham Town Police station, the closest police station to the remand centre were also unaware of the reports as was the Constabulary Communication Network who also claimed ignorance of any jail break.

"It may be an attempt by his cronies to keep him in the news but they don't need to spread rumours to do that because he will be in the news for quite some time," one cop told the Observer.

Guess he’s not the World Boss after all!!! *sigh* From the mouth of the great Gregory Isaacs.... Rumours are spreading....

All for it to be followed up with a cruel yearning for a visual to accompany a composition that takes you into another dimension.... And finally it's here!!

Once again the top diva of R&B brings us a video to show all the other sexy mamas how to do it....

All I can say if I had a man trapped in a room and decided to dance to this song... He'd be in serious trouble!!

Creative Remixes

I've admittedly been slacking on the blogging recently, but that never means my ear isn't still firmly against the ground with eyes wide open on the look out for something fresh and new... While I've apparently been lurking in the shadows, there have been some remixes that I'm appreciating for the twist of creativity that has been used with them, showing a strong flare of innovation for both pieces of work I am referring to...

First exhibit comes from within the My-ish camp by Incisive. Using Wretch 32's previous top 10 hit single Traktor, Incisive & Shakka have twisted it around and made it into a song they can call their own.

Another exerting her abilities is songstress A.L. who has definitely gone from strength to strength throughout 2011 to leave a mark that won't be easily forgotten. Taking I'm A Boss from US Hip-Hop superstars Meek Mill and Rick Ross, the track has been flipped on it's head to give it a more easy listening jazz aura.

Any aspiring musicians definitely need to take note from these two... What I mean by that is just about anybody can get a backing track and write quirky new lyrics, but a true musician is able to take a great composition and make it their own without destroying the memory of the original.... Salutes!

Approximately a fortnight ago I dipped into the archives for a 'Golden Oldies' special edition of The Funky Vault. While listening back to the show, it amazed me how many great quality tracks have been swept under the carpet as the music has continued to evolve. Not to mention the numerous productions that we're overlooked while the craze of skank tracks took over, spurring a new craze that caused a major influx while turning many revellers in the mean time.
