UK Film: Victim (Trailer)

Starring David Harewood, Ashley Madekwe, Jason Maza , Michael Maris, Ashley Chin, Shanika Warren-Markland and Anna Nightingale.

UK Film: Piggy (Trailer)

Released 4th May 2012

UK Film: Ghost (Trailer)

Having personal reservations about why boxing is called a sport, the story behind this film is something I found gripping. Why do I have reservations? Fighting in the street is array and within the home it's domestic violence. Both are an offence, so why is it accepted within a ring and called a sport?

Within Ghost we explore the experiences of a boxer who has sadly taken the life of another man within the ring, causing him to retire from the sport. But while his conscience keeps him away from the sport, the ex-boxer is also haunted by the ghost of his victim.....

Do they find peace with eachother?

No release date has been set as yet, but I'll do my best to keep you updated.

UK Film: Three Stops Down From Plaistow (Trailer)

Three Stops Down From Plaistow is a story of two best friends that come to blows after a robbery goes wrong. Chris & Johnny run the biggest organised crime outfit in South London, all of which goes to pot over loyalty and money. With Chris hitting the bottle and Johnny making rash decisions, who ends up coming off worse??

If you’re wondering what the title actually means then it’s old cockney rhyming slang for someone who is Barking Mad! Reference to the London Underground network, Barking being three stops down from Plaistow on the tube map).

UK Film: Outside Bet (Trailer)

It is 1985. Thatcher is in power, Sade is on the radio, and the print workers have gone on strike. But nothing, not even a scale eight earthquake can put a dampener on a group of close friends that meet every Sunday in their regular South London pub for a pint and free flowing banter of the highest order.

Set against the backdrop of a changing way of life-as Rupert Murdoch moves the printing of his newspapers from Fleet Street to Wapping-this is a tale of seven firm friends, who embark on a unique journey that eventually leads them to gamble all of their savings and redundancy money on a single race.

Cast including Adam Deacon, Jason Maza, Terry Stone, Bob Hoskins and Perry Benson, it looks like this one could be a nice concoction of British talent. We may also get to see the acting charm in Adam Deacon that doesn't get to shine out in the gritty urban films we've become used to seeing him in. Here's to hoping!

New Film: Real Steel

Plot Outline: A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Film: Perfect Sense

Have you ever got to a point in your life when you feel like every unanswered question from the past needs to be laid to rest before you can continue to explore the future? Perfect Sense introduces us to scientist Susan (Eva Green) who has reached that exact point, having given up focal point on everything else including love. Until she meets talented chef Michael (Ewan McGregor). I wonder what will happen....

I'm hoping that once seeing this movie, many of my unanswered questions from the past will start to make 'Perfect Sense'

The 11:11 Phenomenon?

I'm back with another post about 11:11..... (If you'd like to read my previous post click here).

I saw this trailer and had to share it... My younger sister who also always sees 11:11 came up with a theory 6 years ago that something was going to happen on 11th November 2011, since she uttered the words, they have stuck with me. But I didn't think anything like this....

Yes I know, it's just a horror movie but I have to admit I screamed at the screen a few times while watching it. I'm probably going to watch this in the cinema when released on 10th November, then still tweet an extra special 11:11 on 11.11.11 because the truth is, I still don't know the relevance of the 11:11 and I'm still not truly phased..... *shrugs*

UK Film: Everywhere & Nowhere

I always get excited when a new UK film is on the horizon and this one looks like it's right up my street!

Directed by Menhaj Huda (Kidulthood), shot in and around London at Pinewood studios, the Everywhere & Nowhere cast includes Adam Deacon (Anuvahood), Simon Webb (Blue) and James Buckley (The Inbetweeners) and main character James Floyd, who is striving to fulfill his dreams as a DJ, combating the the pressures imposed by his strict Asian upbringing.

The music soundtrack includes the likes of Caspa, Redlight, The Streets and Plan B amongst many others..... Being involved in the music scene with many peers who are DJs, I'm more than interested in seeing this story unfold while bopping my head at a few moments!

Film Review: Terry

“I’m just gonna shadow you for a little while and get to see your normal routine and how you live your life. It’s a human study…”

Student Charlie needs to complete a university assignment and decides to use Terry as his subject. Clearly evident that Terry is not your average Joe Bloggs with a regular nine to five occupation, the forthcoming events are unpredictable. Even though this may be the case, it’s made clear from very early on, whatever happens the camera must keep filming...

The standard gangster flick usually has a narration, depicted through the memory of the main character. Terry has a different angle, a story told as it happens. The unpredictable events unfold before a camera. Some of which even Danny Dyer would shy away from.

“I ain’t a gangster bruv, I’m just Terry mate. You know what I’m saying?”

Constructed on a dire budget, the factor has added to the movie, giving it a raw edge which is impossible to imitate. At many occasions it is more than easy to forget you’re watching a fictional creation.

Showcased at Portobello Film Festival September 2010, Terry also won the Best London Film Award. Directors Charlie Ruez and Nick Nevern who also plays the Terry character can definitely be proud of this creation.
