New Video: Wonderful Life

It's been a while since Estelle has released something I really liked... Her last release 'Thank You' did get my attention as did this one...

Both songs taken from Estelle's recently released 'All Of Me' album

New Music: Donaeo - Indigo Child

Regarded as a leader of the new skool, pushing all things UK forward, Donaeo has finally released a compilation of music for all his die hard fans. Indigo Child has been gifted as a mixtape available for free download, much to the glory of all the UK Funky supporters who struggled to have most of the music readily available to them. Something Donaeo has never held back from those who love his music.

Indigo Child is definitely another step in Donaeo's journey of musical growth. With many more vocal treats in comparison to his previous album Party Hard. Not to be mistaken for a slow ballad mixtape, Indigo Child also holds some faster tempo catchy tracks which will get in your head without you even knowing it.

DaVinche is Ready To Go!

There's something magical about watching a track come together... The basic steps of composition coming together to produce a creation of beats, hooks and melodies which we're once mere silence. The finishing product the avid listener takes for granted, having the liberty of just pressing play, overlooking the time and creation taken to manufacture 3 minutes of euphoric melody.

DaVinche takes us into the studio in this viral video for Ready To Go

feat Baby Blue & Cleo Sol, a promo release for his upcoming album due

later this year....

Tinchy Stryder feat Dappy

When I first heard this my mind went.... "Not another bit of bubblegum pop" But!!! I was bopping my head before it finished.... Have a listen...

I would like to see some mainstream/underground collaborations though, think those who have made it through to the pop culture should bring up some of the underdogs who they think have the potential, but then again, with all this selling out talk that may be easier said than done.

Anyways... It's the first release from Tinchy Stryder's forthcoming fourth album. Wonder what else is going to be on it!!

Album Review: Katy B - On A Mission

Following Katy B’s steps since she teamed up with DJ NG & MC Versatile to bring the groundbreaking UK Funky track Tell Me, for me this is an album that has been more than heavily anticipated. On the cards for a few years, On A Mission is finally available for purchase. The teasers have made us all thirsty for more and holding single releases that have reached Top 5 positions in the national charts, the figures have spoken for themselves that I’m not alone.

Providing a diverse array of genres from the underground scene, Katy B’s vocals sit like a beautiful harmony over bass, kicks, snares and chords alike. The production from Geeneus, Skream, Benga, Zinc and Magnetic Man is tight throughout adding to the delight and giving the project a 100% satisfaction level of value.

Jumping straight on to the tracks that have not yet been released, then reloading to the top to listen to the album as a whole, I couldn’t be more than happier with the purchase of On A Mission…..

The Ending of The Streets

Barely into 2011, another legendary act is reported to be coming to an end. 10 years since ‘Has It Come to This’ was released under the Locked On label who had previous success with Artful Dodger and Craig David, the single reaching top 20 in March 2001, the Streets are soon to release their upcoming album titled ‘Computers and Blues’ which will be the last album released on their 5 album record deal with Atlantic.

Following the release of ‘Computers and Blues’ on 7th February 2011 and the subsequent tours, Mike Skinner is said to be writing a film… The stereotypical mind thinks along the lines of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch. Surely we can have more faith in the creativity of his mind to explore outside of the box and deliver something less expected. He does have an interesting mind after all.

Mike Skinner paved the way for British rappers such as The Mitchell Brothers, Example and Professor Green, who were also signed to his independent record label ‘The Beats Recordings’ which closed doors in 2007. The Streets will always be remembered for hits like Let’s Push Things Forward, Dry Your Eyes, Weak Become Heroes and personal favourite Blinded By The Lights.

The first release from the Computers and Blues album is
Going Through Hell on 31st January 2011

On Katy's Mission!

She first grabbed my attention on the vocals of the UK Funky classic 'Tell Me' when she teamed up with DJ NG & MC Versatile. Her follow up 'As I' produced by Geeneus was arguably my favourite funky track of 2009, it still sends me on a frenzy that requires me to close my eyes and start spinning around to get the full enjoyment.

More recently Katy teamed up with Benga and brought us On A Mission which is undoubtedbly one of the biggest tracks to come out of the UK this year and definitely a major track on the Dubstep scene. Holding position within the national charts for a number of weeks, I think it's fair to state that Katy B is not only on a mission, the young lady is seriously about to blow!! (Errrrm..... not sure about that statement, has she blown already?)

Anyway...... Katy has now teamed up with Magnetic Man (I Need Air) to bring us Perfect Stranger, and also Zinc to bring us Louder.

I haven't yet had the chance to meet Katy B, but I'm sure she'd agree that it's something that needs to happen soon..... What d'you reckon Katy?? I'm on your mission with ya!!!!

Look out for the forthcoming Katy B album released on the Rinse abel.

Bashy has a close shave

Don't you Know!!!

I've been heavily anticipating Bashy's new album for a LONG while..... during which time I even subconsciously became a fan of his beard.

But the beard has GONE!! Don't believe the hype.... See for yourself.

So does this mean that the album is complete??
